As part of the process, we set up a video chat with them shortly after we had first reached out. It was a short chat, but we knew right away that we had found a breeder who would support us throughout the entire journey, and who we could ask the many questions we knew we would have. Boy were we right! Rocky Legend Doodles was always very easy to contact, and thoroughly answered all the questions we bombarded them with. In addition to all the information they provided, one of our favourite parts of the experience was all of the updates we got! At least once a week, they posted beautiful quality photos and videos of the puppies, giving us good insight into the personalities of the different puppies and making us feel like we were getting to see the litter grow up right in front of our eyes.

"After dreaming of mini Doodles vicariously through Instagram for a couple of years, we stumbled across Rocky Legend Doodles unexpectedly through a Google search. It did not take long to see that this was one of the luckiest and best searches we had ever done. After a week of following RLD on social media, reading through their entire website, and watching them with their Spring litters we knew they were the right fit for us.

From the first conversations we could see how much care, love, and attention went into everything for their puppies. Honestly, we were super nervous sending our application in because we had fallen for what is now our Kaia, and we were so afraid we wouldn’t meet their standards. Thankfully they responded quickly and within two weeks we had our FaceTime interview, were approved, and brought Kaia home.

Fast forward three months and after learning our senior dog had some health issues, we approached RLD about the possibility of adding another puppy to our family and were fortunate 6 weeks later to bring our Maisy home!

"I fell in love with my friends' pup Romeo, who came into their lives from the RLD Family. I knew almost instantly that THIS is the kind of companion I am looking for. I asked my friends ALL the questions about the breeder, their experience with the process and life with mini double doodle so far. Every answer I received brought a smile to my face and checked the box in my heart next to my internal requirements for a furry friend. We spent almost a week hiking all together in the mountains and me, being my adventurous self, understood that Romeo, the mountain goat, is the motivation I need to make myself hike to the summit hahah

I sent an e-mail to RLD with my intent to sign up for a next litter shortly after this trip and that's where my excitement started peaking through the roof.

The whole process since I made a decision to get a pup from RLD until now that my little girl Rhubarb (Tansy from Caffeine and Co Collection) is 4 months old was just so easy, seamless and stress/worry-free. The Rocky Legend Doodles Team provided me with all the updates on the litter I signed up for and later on specific puppy I chose online (due to covid). At first I wasn't sure how it'll all go (for instance, choosing the puppy online), but I got a chance to "meet" all the little ones on a video call, learn about their little personalities and behaviours and choose the little girl that "stole" my heart even through the webcam :) I did truly feel that "this is the one" light that came on in my head as I saw her. And from that moment onwards it was just a forever-lasting countdown to a BIG HOMING DAY. Now I have a best friend that is so very loved from the day she was born  I know how much RLD Family cares for every pup they bring into this world and it doesn't stop on a day new owners pick them up. I am a huge fan of all the information RLD shares on proper puppy raising/training/exercising/feeding/enriching etc. All the resources provided by them are bookmarked and re-visited by me on multiple occasions. I am a first time pet owner and I felt prepared to welcome my little girl into my world with the information from RLD blog posts on their website (so easy, accessible, well-explained, practical and relatable!). "After loads of research into different breeders, we decided on going with Rocky Legend Doodles and we couldn’t have made a better decision. We have only had positive interactions with this family run business, they are wonderful to deal with, responsive, thoughtful and caring people. 

 

During our decision making process, it became abundantly clear to us that their main goal is to breed healthy, happy puppies and place them with families who will appreciate these lovely dogs. Once the time came to pick up our little guy and we brought him home, we saw how truly amazing and smart these dogs are.

"There is no other way to put this - I would not be the pet parent I am if I had not met RLD.

 

After struggling through the pandemic alone, I knew I was ready for a puppy and I knew I wanted a doodle. Truthfully, I put myself on several waitlists of breeders friends had used, and was prepared to get whichever mini doodle could come my way fastest. 

​

When I met RLD I was immediately struck by how much their approach to breeding and raising dogs matched the values I had for my own life. I would never have even considered what raising a balanced puppy would look like, and because of them I found myself up late at night for weeks reading about dog psychology, holistic pet nutrition, learning to become a Pack Leader, and training a puppy to be calm from day one. RLD made me feel like I had what it took to be the calm, confident leader that raises a balanced dog!

It was also incredibly apparent the care and attention they put into the first 8 weeks with the puppies - when I brought Walnut home, he was very calm and curious, had minimal crate anxiety after the first two nights, and was completely litter trained (which transitioned beautifully to outside!). I saw firsthand that they spend lots of time with the puppies, they put extreme effort into starting their training and desensitization from day one, and the love and deep care they have for the puppies even after they come home.

Because I met them, I’m raising Walnut to be a balanced dog, and it shows.

When we meet people on walks or adventures, they always comment on how calm and well-behaved he is despite being a 4 month old puppy.

 

I can’t wait to see the dog he grows up to be - he is already so observant, sassy, affectionate, and smart. This will not be my last RLD - they’re a part of the family now."

"I can’t say enough about the Rocky Legend Doodle team, they are amazing. 

 

We had a less conventional way of welcoming one of their puppies into our home…we didn’t pick a puppy from the litter at the usual puppy picking week.

We came across Swansea (previously Cochrane) on Instagram when she was around 4 months old. All of her adorable pictures and videos caught my eye and I couldn’t stop checking daily to see if she was still available. I sent a few messages being curious for more information and the RLD team was always very responsive. When I decided to fill out the application form our family was so hopeful to be selected. We had a great FaceTime interview where we learned about the holistic manner that they raise their puppies and this was a huge bonus to our family. RLD decided we would be a good fit and we decided to pick up our puppy the next day!! The RLD team happily (and promptly) answered all my questions while I went shopping that morning for everything we would need prior to picking her up to come home. 

 

The check ins and contact we still have with the RLD team is a testament to the love and attachment they have to each puppy! I still message them with the odd question and their knowledge and responses are always appreciated (and usually followed up with the sharing of photos). 

 

Swansea is such an amazing puppy. She is playful, and silly but also so calm and smart. She learns new tricks/house rules so quickly and is so gentle and loving with our kids. We have only had her for 4 months and couldn’t be happier to have her puppy energy in our home.
