What kind of doodles do you offer?Mutligen English Goldendoodles and occasionally Aussiedoodles. We offer sables in a variety of colours, solid chocolates, blondes, and blacks, tuxedo's in various shades as well as phantoms. Each litter is like a box of chocolates -- a delightful surprise! All our doodles come in the mini (medium) size, which ranges from 15lbs up to 35lbs.
-
What does multigenerational mean? Most Aussiedoodles are F1--which means they are first generation. This means one parent was an Australian Shepherd, and the other parent was a Poodle, making their offspring first generation Aussiedoodles (50/50). F2 are the second generation, so, basically, if the aforementioned offspring, had offspring. Our puppies are MULTI-GEN, so sometimes as far as fourth or fifth generation Aussiedoodles.
-
Are your dogs hypoallergenic?Doodles can't be called hypoallergenic because there is a percentage of Retriever or Shepherd in them, however, the Poodle part is hypoallergenic. Because all of our puppies are multigen, and that makes for quite a higher percentage of poodle (often 70% or more), they are often not an issue for people with dog-related allergies. That is not a guarantee, however, as some people are not allergic to the hair, but the saliva or other particles that come from a dog.

Can you explain your adoption process? If you are interested in adding one of our puppies to your family, here is how the process works: 1) Fill out our puppy application HERE 2) We will get back to your application and schedule a Facetime interview to meet, go over your application and answer any questions you may have. 3) If moving forward is a good fit for both parties, you secure your spot in the litter by putting down the $500 non refundable deposit. 4) Puppy picking day is at week 4-5, and that's when the families who have put down deposits Facetime to meet the pups and choose which one is the best fit for them (if you're wondering about how pick order works, there's an answer to that lower down on our FAQ page). 5) The second half of the price of your pet will be due on Puppy Picking day. 6) From the beginning up until homing day we will share picture and video updates of your pup on our social media so you can watch them grow! 7) Third and last half of payment for puppy will be due on homing day (week 8). If you are applying after 5 weeks and Puppy Picking has already occurred, following an application, interview and approval, to reserve your puppy the payment is divided into two parts, half is paid after the above steps have been completed, and the remainder is paid on Homing Day (8 weeks). Aside from all that's mentioned above, the moment we begin working with our families we provide tons of resources and support along the way, to make sure everybody's prepared & equipped for this new adventure! See 'What do puppies go home with' below to see more on what comes with the purchase of your pet.

What do puppies go home with?By the time your pup goes home with you, they will have been to our vet for a full checkup and received a certificate of health and record of UTD deworming, as well as their first series of nosodes (the homeopathic alternative to vaccines) for parvovirus, hepatitus, adenovirus & distemper. All litters go home with our 1-year Health Guarantee that covers any genetic issues with hips, eyes or heart, and have been raised on the finest 100% raw diet once they start weaning. Each pup goes home with a little goodie bag including: A collar, some treats, a sample of our favourite holistic shampoo bar, a few play-toys, a blanket that smells like mama & their littermates, an antler for teething, and some other fun treats. Also included is 30 days of FREE pet insurance through Trupanion, and our NEW 15+ page guide on the first 24 hours with your puppy that helps you have a seamless & stress-free transition! On the training front, our 8 week old pups go home almost completely litter box trained, sound trained, well-socialized by mamma, had lots of human socialization with a variety of people / ages, undergone ENS for the first 3 weeks (early neurological stimulation) to help them adapt to stress, receive extensive grooming exposure (blowdryer, baths, nail trimming, brushing, etc), and been imprinted from 4 weeks old and on that calm behaviour is rewarded with food, attention, and affection. Apart from all that’s mentioned above, it is our priority at Rocky Legend Doodles to provide helpful, quick and easy communication from the moment we begin working together, to well beyond Homing Day. We offer lifetime breeder support & 1:1 mentorship with our RLD families, from trouble-shooting, recommendations, training tips, and everything in between, we are just a text or email away and eager to help. As an RLD family you get access to our extensive private resource page that is an intentional pet-parent's dream directory! From excellent groomers, vets, holistic options, trainers and more, we've gone to a lot of work to create a community of solutions & support! “From the get go, Lauricia and Ashley have been so patient and generous with their wealth of information and experience. We can always rely on them for tips/advice, they’re responsive and reassuring! Also incredibly calm, which is why RLD puppies mirror that. With the recommended resources on dog psychology, we can now reach a whole other level of love and bond with Lake.” - Belle & Dylan (July 2022)

What food do you use for your litters? We feed our weaned/weaning puppies a mixture of goats milk and Back to Basics raw pet food! We highly encourage our families to look into the raw diet when they take their puppy home, but if for one reason or another they want to go the kibble route, we recommend Nature's Logic (Distinction line) for its pure ingredients and delicious taste. Chicken or sardine are the usual favourites ;)

Do you ship/fly puppies?Flying WITHIN Canada: We do not have a flight system at this time, so unless you, a family member or friend who has dog experience can set up all the details and fly WITH the puppy as "carry-on", we do not ship or fly our puppies out. *British Columbia: Depending on where you're located/timing/schedule availability, we do deliver to BC* US: If you are willing to travel to pick up your puppy, prior to 12 weeks of age, border crossing by car with your puppy is very simple, and we've worked with families who have done it. If that interests you, reach out to us and we can chat further.
-
How far out are your waitlists? We don't do waitlists. If we have opened advanced deposit spots on a litter, you can apply by filling out our application, and then completing a Facetime interview with us! From there, a deposit is placed and that secures you a spot on the upcoming litter.
-
What does 'Pick Order' mean?Every breeder does Puppy Picking differently, and it can seem a little confusing when you're new to it. Here's how it works with us: To hold a spot on any litter you will need to have completed a short Facetime interview with us. This is to get-to-know each other better, go over all the details and answer any questions you have. If we're a good fit and moving forward is a go, you put down the $500 (non refundable) deposit. That is what secures you a spot on the litter. Now this is where Pick Order comes into play... If you were the first family to complete the above process, that makes you 1st Pick. When the litter is 4-5 weeks old and we have Puppy Picking, being 1st Pick means you get to choose between all the puppies in the litter. 2nd Pick means you get to choose between all the puppies EXCEPT what 1st Pick chose. 3rd Pick gets to choose between all puppies EXCEPT what 1st & 2nd family chose. And it goes on like that the whole way down TILL last pick. Being last pick means you DON'T get to choose between the puppies, but get the remaining puppy. For as long as we've been doing this, every family from 1st pick to Last Pick have always gotten EXACTLY the puppy they desired. (And though this seems like a no-brainer, it begs communicating: No puppy gets favouritism from us. 1st Pick to Last Pick get all the same treatment, socialization, and care. Every puppy is somebody's fist pick :)

Do you do health testing?Yes! All our dams and studs have completed genetic health testing through Embark with great results. They've also been checked & approved for breeding by our vet.
